Barre
Low impact. High energy. Serious burn.
Barre is a full-body workout inspired by ballet, Pilates and strength training.
You do not need any dance experience. You do not even need to feel graceful. Barre is about small controlled movements, high repetitions, music, energy and that unmistakable leg shake.
It is low impact, but it builds heat quickly. Expect strength, stamina, posture, balance, flexibility and plenty of burn.
What to expect
Most of the class is standing, starting with a warm-up before moving into legs, glutes, arms and core work.
We use the barre for support and often include props such as Pilates balls, bands and light weights. You will work with the music, moving to the beat, but it does not need to be perfect - this is not a dance class.
Modifications and progressions are given throughout, so you can work at the right level for your body.
Barre is a brilliant complement to Reformer and Mat Pilates, especially if you enjoy music, energy and a little bit of fire in the legs.
